This was the first season where some episodes conclude with Barney singing " I Love You" by himself and in the second verse flashbacks are shown of kids hugging their friends and family before transitioning back to Barney as a stuffed doll. Besides Barney, this season now displays BJ and Baby Bop "breaking the fourth wall" by talking directly to the audience in some episodes. The format for episodes in this season include interruption by the dinosaurs doing various segments in front of a white background. After the girl leaves, Barney comes to life into the white background as kids from off-screen shout out his name. Instead, the theme song ends with a girl placing the Barney doll on the brick edges as she goes to play in the park. Unlike previous (and future) seasons, no title cards are displayed for an episode's title after the " Barney Theme Song".
